Analysis: Sanchez exited after just 47 pitches Wednesday due to a tight hamstring. It seems like he could use some time away from the mound anyway, having posted an 8.37 ERA in seven starts since the All-Star break.
|Aug. 17 9:05 AM PT10:05 AM MT11:05 AM CT12:05 PM ET12:05 ET16:05 GMT0:05 9:05 AM MST11:05 AM EST11:35 AM VEN20:05 UAE11:05 AM CT-Anibal Sanchez allowed four runs on five hits and one walk in 2.1 innings as the Detroit Tigers lost to the Texas Rangers 12-6 on Wednesday. Sanchez struck out one, ending the game with a 6.95 ERA and 1.60 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: What number is the worst over Sanchez's last five starts? Is it the 9.55 ERA, the 1.98 WHIP or the 10 homers allowed in 21 2/3 innings?
|Aug. 16 7:11 PM PT8:11 PM MT9:11 PM CT10:11 PM ET22:11 ET2:11 GMT10:11 7:11 PM MST9:11 PM EST9:41 PM VEN6:11 UAE (+1)9:11 PM CT-Sanchez exited Wednesday's start at Texas after 2 1/3 innings due to left hamstring tightness. He was charged with four runs and five hits prior to departing.
Analysis: Sanchez could be looking at a DL stint if the injury turns out serious enough, though he shouldn't be a fantasy factor regardless of his status. He's been rocked for 17 runs and 23 hits in 11 1/3 innings over his last three starts.
|Aug. 12 9:09 PM PT10:09 PM MT11:09 PM CT12:09 AM ET0:09 ET4:09 GMT12:09 9:09 PM MST11:09 PM EST11:39 PM VEN8:09 UAE11:09 PM CT-Anibal Sanchez fell to 3-3, allowing five runs on eight hits in 6.0 innings, as the Detroit Tigers lost to the Minnesota Twins 9-4 on Friday. Sanchez struck out six, ending the game with a 6.69 ERA and 1.57 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: This was an improvement over Sanchez's last time out, when he served up five homers while being tagged for eight runs in three innings in a loss at Baltimore. With a 7.84 ERA over his last six starts, the veteran righty shouldn't be garnering fantasy consideration.
|Aug. 6 3:13 PM PT4:13 PM MT5:13 PM CT6:13 PM ET18:13 ET22:13 GMT6:13 3:13 PM MST5:13 PM EST5:43 PM VEN2:13 UAE (+1)5:13 PM CT-Anibal Sanchez fell to 3-2, allowing eight runs on 10 hits and one walk in 3.0 innings, as the Detroit Tigers lost to the Baltimore Orioles 12-3 on Sunday. Sanchez struck out two, ending the game with a 6.62 ERA and 1.59 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: Sanchez allowed three straight homers in the first inning and a career-high five overall in losing for the second time in three starts.

Sanchez struck out four, ending the game with a 6.18 ERA and 1.54 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: This was his worst start since returning in mid-June from a month-long demotion to the minor leagues. Sanchez has a 4.66 ERA since he came back.
|July 22 9:35 PM PT10:35 PM MT11:35 PM CT12:35 AM ET0:35 ET4:35 GMT12:35 9:35 PM MST11:35 PM EST12:05 AM VEN8:35 UAE11:35 PM CT-Sanchez improved to 2-0, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks in 5.2 innings, as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Minnesota Twins 6-3 on Friday.
Analysis: Sanchez struck out five, ending the game with a 5.95 ERA and 1.45 WHIP on the season.
|July 17 8:31 AM PT9:31 AM MT10:31 AM CT11:31 AM ET11:31 ET15:31 GMT23:31 8:31 AM MST10:31 AM EST11:01 AM VEN19:31 UAE10:31 AM CT-Anibal Sanchez allowed five runs on nine hits in 6.0 innings as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 6-5 on Sunday. Sanchez struck out three, ending the game with a 6.08 ERA and 1.43 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: Homers weren't an issue for Sanchez in his first four turns back in the rotation - he gave up only one - but he allowed three on Sunday.
|July 6 1:47 PM PT2:47 PM MT3:47 PM CT4:47 PM ET16:47 ET20:47 GMT4:47 1:47 PM MST3:47 PM EST4:17 PM VEN0:47 UAE (+1)3:47 PM CT-Anibal Sanchez improved to 1-0, allowing two runs on five hits in 6.0 innings, as the Detroit Tigers defeated the San Francisco Giants 6-2 on Thursday. Sanchez struck out eight, ending the game with a 5.89 ERA and 1.42 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: Sanchez earned his first victory since Aug. 23. He was pitching so poorly this season that he was sent down to Triple-A Toledo, but the 33-year-old right-hander has posted a 3.09 ERA in four starts since returning from the minors.
|July 1 3:34 PM PT4:34 PM MT5:34 PM CT6:34 PM ET18:34 ET22:34 GMT6:34 3:34 PM MST5:34 PM EST6:04 PM VEN2:34 UAE (+1)5:34 PM CT-Anibal Sanchez allowed three runs on four hits and one walk in 6.1 innings as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Cleveland Indians 7-4 on Saturday. Sanchez struck out five, ending the game with a 6.34 ERA and 1.51 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: Sanchez held the Indians to one run over the first six innings but ran into trouble in the seventh and eventually lost out on an elusive first win of 2017. The 33-year-old is enjoying a brief career resurgence, though, as he's posted a 3.12 ERA and held opponents to a .186 average in three starts since being brought back from the minors.
|June 25 11:46 AM PT12:46 PM MT1:46 PM CT2:46 PM ET14:46 ET18:46 GMT2:46 11:46 AM MST1:46 PM EST2:16 PM VEN22:46 UAE1:46 PM CT-Anibal Sanchez allowed two runs - one earned - on two hits in 6.0 innings as the Detroit Tigers lost to the San Diego Padres 7-3 on Saturday. Sanchez struck out four, ending the game with a 6.75 ERA and 1.66 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: Sanchez has actually been pretty good in his two starts since rejoining Detroit's rotation, as he held the Mariners to two runs in a five-inning no-decision five days earlier. He's still not a recommended fantasy option, especially with the way the Tigers have struggled lately.
|June 20 9:40 AM PT10:40 AM MT11:40 AM CT12:40 PM ET12:40 ET16:40 GMT0:40 9:40 AM MST11:40 AM EST12:10 PM VEN20:40 UAE11:40 AM CT-Anibal Sanchez allowed two runs on five hits and three walks in 5.0 innings as the Detroit Tigers lost to the Seattle Mariners 6-2 on Monday. Sanchez struck out five, ending the game with a 7.96 ERA and 1.96 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: Sanchez had made 11 appearances as a reliever for Detroit before being sent to Triple-A Toledo and making four starts in the minors. ''Sometimes you need to refresh a lot of things,'' said Sanchez, who was making his fifth start. ''That is what I did in my time in the minor leagues and figure out how I can be successful here.''
