Bumgarner to miss at least 3 months

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) San Francisco Giants ace Madison Bumgarner is expected to be sidelined until after the All-Star break following injuries sustained in a dirt-biking accident.

The 27-year-old suffered a Grade 2 AC joint sprain in the April 20 crash on the team's day off in Colorado.

Bumgarner started rehab Friday focused on improving his range of motion, Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Friday. He is not expected to return before the All-Star break, which runs from July 10-13.

Yanks rally from 8 down, top O's in 10

NEW YORK (AP) Matt Holliday ended a thrilling duel of home run derby in the Bronx with one final thump.

Holliday hit the eighth homer of the game, a three-run shot in the 10th inning as the New York Yankees completed a stunning rally from an eight-run deficit, outslugging the Baltimore Orioles 14-11 Friday night.

Cespedes to DL, Syndergaard back Sunday?

WASHINGTON (AP) The New York Mets placed outfielder Yoenis Cespedes on the 10-day disabled list because of a strained left hamstring.

His absence is another blow to a team that has lost six straight, nine of 10 and fallen into last place in the NL East. He is hitting .270 with six homers and 10 RBIs.

Mets beat Nationals to end 6-game skid

WASHINGTON (AP) With Bryce Harper coming to the plate with the bases loaded and the Mets clinging to a two-run, ninth-inning lead, New York manager Terry Collins went to the mound and replaced closer Jeurys Familia with left-hander Josh Edgin.

"If we'd have won seven in a row, I probably would have left Jeurys out there, because that's what he's here to do," Collins said.

HOUSTON (AP) Charlie Morton liked the way the Houston Astros rallied for their latest win.

Morton struck out a career-high 12, George Springer singled home the tying run in his return from a leg injury and the Astros beat Oakland 9-4 to send the Athletics to their fifth straight loss.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) The Minnesota Twins' offense woke up late after having only two hits the first seven innings.

Miguel Sano and Joe Mauer hit consecutive two-run doubles in the eighth inning and the Twins rallied for a 6-4 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Friday night.

ST. LOUIS (AP) St. Louis catcher Yadier Molina has picked off 48 runners in his 14-year career, and his heads-up play in the sixth inning of the Cardinals' 7-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Friday may have been his finest work.

Molina short-circuited a Reds rally by catching Eugenio Suarez napping at third with the bases loaded in a 3-1 game.

White Sox beat sloppy Tigers, run hits 5

DETROIT (AP) Mike Pelfrey put his emotions aside and helped his new team, the Chicago White Sox, beat his old team, the Detroit Tigers.

Pelfrey, who was released by the Tigers near the end of spring training, started Friday's game at Detroit and left after 4 2/3 innings with the game tied. Geovany Soto then had a two-run single in the eighth, helping the White Sox beat the Tigers 7-3 at Comerica Park.
